Even though we go through many gauge tests and graph tests, the final test depends on who use it. These primitive and non-scientific tests will give us relief and even worries in using rods (as a user will feel) that numbers can not provide.
The picture on the left is a lifting test of an 10lb.(about 4.5kg)mushroom-shape anchor. After each weight is cleared, more weight is added on to it.
